In 1944, Tom Rolt published his book Narrow Boat, which reflected on [Seven Wonders of the Waterways] of the United Kingdom. The list was originally compiled in 1946 by Robert Aickman, co-founder of the Inland Waterways Association (IWA), at a time when [River Avon, Warwickshire] the Evesham Journal published an article on its history and decline. Robert Aickman started a correspondence with the editor of the article, suggesting [Kennet and Avon Canal] 15 May 2011. These seven wonders of the waterways are as listed by Robert Aickman (the co-founder of the Inland Waterways Association in 1946) in his [History of the British canal system] group called the Inland Waterways Association by L. T. C. Rolt and Robert Aickman helped revive interest in the UK's canals to the point where they are [Giacomo Casanova] of his life "A Disciple of Plato", a short story by English writer Robert Aickman, first printed in the 2015 posthumous collection The Strangers and Other [Stratford-upon-Avon Canal] was reached. It had been jacked up and was resting on heavy timbers. Robert Aickman, another of the founders of the IWA, had organised press coverage, and [February 26] Jaspers, German-Swiss psychiatrist and philosopher (b. 1883) 1981 – Robert Aickman, English author and activist (b. 1914) 1981 – Howard Hanson, American [North Walsham & Dilham Canal] the canal was diverted, to rejoin the waterway below Bacton Wood lock.
