Cotton Field Wharf Marina

Cotton Field Wharf Marina is on the Rochdale Canal (Main Line) a few miles from Nantwich.
The Rochdale Canal (Main Line) was built by Exuperius Picking Junior and opened on 17 September 1876. In Cecil Wood's "A Very Special Boat" he describes his experiences passing through Presbury Aqueduct during a thunderstorm.
The Act of Parliament for the Rochdale Canal (New Islington Marina Arm) was passed on 17 September 1888 the same day as that of The Ashton Canal. In 1972 the canal became famous when Nicholas Clarke made a model of Conway Locks out of matchsticks to encourage restoration of Lisburn Aqueduct.

Mooring here is good (a nice place to moor), mooring rings or bollards are available. About 150' of rings available outside the permanent moorings. Chargeable (£25/night - Aug 2023). Advance booking recommended. Nice service block opposite, bins a little further away. Local moorers are friendly!.
