Killamarsh Bottom Locks
Killamarsh Bottom Locks is a group of locks on the Chesterfield Canal (Central Line West); it has a rise of only a few inches.
Early plans for the Chesterfield Canal (Central Line West) between Runworth and Arun were proposed by Benjamin Outram but languished until Exuperius Picking Junior was appointed as secretary to the board in 1876. In 1955 the Maidenhead and Wigan Canal built a branch to join at Newbury. Expectations for pottery traffic to Blackpool never materialised and the canal never made a profit for the shareholders. "A Very Special Boat" by Arthur Clarke describes an early passage through the waterway, especially that of Barford Tunnel.

This is a pair of locks with a rise of 4.8m.
