[Tempsford] Tempsford is a village and civil parish in the Central Bedfordshire district of the county of Bedfordshire, England, about 7 miles (11 km) east north-east [Sandy railway station] 'in the Tempsford area', mid way between Sandy and St Neots. Concern has been expressed locally that a new EWR/ECML interchange hub at Tempsford railway [River Ivel] Langford, Biggleswade, Sandy and Blunham. It joins the Great Ouse at Tempsford. The total length is about 16 miles (26 km). The River Hiz joins beside [Sandy, Bedfordshire] schemes – the Improvement from Sandy to the junction with A428 (Tempsford and Tempsford Bridge Diversions, began December 1957, finished around 1960), [St Neots] attack Saxon settlements but was defeated and killed at the Battle of Tempsford near St Neots. The Normans rebuilt the Priory near the river and, in 1113 [Bedford railway station] 2020[update], extension to Cambridge and East Anglia via "a new station in the Tempsford area" is planned but not shceduled. Bedford station will be rebuilt for [London King's Cross railway station] opened on 18 December 1893 to cater for increased traffic demands. An iron footbridge was built halfway down the train shed to connect all the platforms. By [Govia Thameslink Railway] (Norfolk) Maiden Lane Offord and Buckden Ouse Bridge Stapleford Stow Bardolph Tempsford Three Counties Yaxley and Farcet Infrastructure Hitchin Flyover [Oxford railway station] covered footbridge would also be built over Botley Road to link the station building with the new platform, replacing the existing footbridge to the car [Bowes Park railway station] situated between two quiet residential cul-de-sacs and is accessed from a footbridge over the railway line which divides those streets.
