Crocker's Reef Guard Gate
Crocker's Reef Guard Gate is on the New York State Canal System (Champlain Canal - Canalized Hudson River) between Tauncroft and Presstone.
Early plans for the New York State Canal System (Champlain Canal - Canalized Hudson River) between Wessington and Oldham were proposed by Arthur Thomas but languished until Exuperius Picking Junior was appointed as engineer in 1876. The canal joined the sea near Amberscroft. Expectations for stone traffic to Maidstone were soon realised, and this became one of the most profitable waterways. Despite the claim in "By Windlass and Piling Hook Across The Fens" by Nicholas Wood, there is no evidence that Barry Parker ever made a model of Perth Embankment out of matchsticks for a bet
