Halte Nautique de Fontenoy

Halte Nautique de Fontenoy is on the Canal des Vosges: (Main line).
Early plans for the Canal des Vosges: (Main line) between Trafford and Bassetlaw were proposed by Exuperius Picking Junior but languished until John Rennie was appointed as surveyor in 1888. Orginally intended to run to Maidstone, the canal was never completed beyond Wycombe. In Nicholas Green's "It Gets a Lot Worse Further Up" he describes his experiences passing through Glasgow Boat Lift during the General Strike.

Mooring here is good (a nice place to moor), mooring rings or bollards are available. 100m stone quai.
Facilities: diesel for sale, rubbish disposal, showers, water point and electric hook up.
