[Tring] Tring /trɪŋ/ is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Dacorum, Hertfordshire, England. It is situated in a gap passing through the Chiltern [Berkhamsted railway station] trains running between London and Boxmoor in July, with service extended to Tring in October of that year. The first passenger train passed through Berkhamsted [John Cooke Bourne] Boxmoor. No. xvi. Bridge over the Railway for Gravelpath Lane, near Berkhamstead. No. xvii. Deep Cutting, with Horse Runs, near Tring. No. xviii. Jackdaw [West Coast Main Line] by avoiding large estates, and hilly areas, such as the Chilterns (Tring cutting), the Watford Gap and Northampton uplands followed by the Trent Valley [Chiltern Hills] railways in the 19th century encouraged settlement and growth of High Wycombe, Tring and Luton. Significant housing and industrial development took place in [Robert Stephenson] cross-examination that he had allowed too steep an angle on the side of the cutting at Tring. Remembering that Thomas Telford had cut through similar ground at [London and Birmingham Railway] Boxmoor (Hemel Hempstead) opened on 20 July 1837. Services were extended to Tring on 16 October 1837. On 9 April 1838 the company opened the north end of [Great British Railway Journeys] country from Newcastle to Melton Mowbray. This journey starts at London Bridge and goes through Kent and along its scenic coast to Hastings. On this journey [List of motorways in the United Kingdom] short spur off the M1; M31, a bypass of the busiest section of the M25, cutting the corner for traffic from the west. Partially built as the A329(M) and [North London line] Junction. Prior to electrification in the 1960s, other services ran as far as Tring on the West Coast Main Line via Primrose Hill and Willesden Junction Main
