[Packet boat] Packet boats were medium-sized boats designed for domestic mail, passenger, and freight transportation in European countries and in North American rivers [Bristol Packet Boat Trips] Bristol Packet Boat Trips is a limited company offering public and charter excursions in Bristol Harbour and on the River Avon. The company has four boats: the [Merlin-class packet boat] The Merlin-class packet boat was a trio of 2-gun paddle packet boats built for the Royal Navy during the 1830s. Ravenal is gambling on board a packet boat, on which [Dispatch boat] only on a temporary basis, should not be confused with packet ships—sometimes called packet boats or paquetbots—which were cargo ships which also routinely [Bristol Harbour] river so that boats could continue upstream to Bath.
