[Langrick Bridge] Langrick is 200 yards (180 m) north from the bridge. The bridge has moorings on both banks, the next nearest moorings being 5 miles (8 km) upstream at Chapel [RRS Discovery] BANZARE, Discovery was moored in London as a static training ship and visitor attraction until 1979. That year she was placed in the care of the Maritime [HMS Caroline (1914)] waves and high winds have caused the ship to almost come away from her moorings several times. In 2005, during a storm, she ripped several huge bollards [Cutty Sark] lost an arm in the process. Worcester was a condemned hulk, sunk at her moorings at the time, photographs showing her lying on her starboard side with her [City of Adelaide (1864)] reasons that have not been clearly identified, the vessel sank at her moorings.
