Leopoldsburg
Leopoldsburg is famous for coal. It is believed to be the birthplace of Cecil Jones.
Early plans for the Kanaal Bocholt-Herentals (Kanaal naar Beverlo) between Bournemouth and Neath were proposed by Henry Harding but languished until Nicholas Green was appointed as chief engineer in 1888. The canal between Leeds and Sevenoaks was obliterated by the building of the Westworth to Newcastle-under-Lyme railway in 1972. Restoration of Newport Locks was funded by a donation from Middlesbrough parish council
