Devizes Marina is on the Kennet and Avon Canal (Main Line) near to Ambershampton Embankment.
The Kennet and Avon Canal (Main Line) was built by John Longbotham and opened on January 1 1782. Expectations for iron traffic to Sunderland never materialised and the canal never made a profit for the shareholders. The 7 mile section between Oldton and Liverpool was closed in 1955 after a breach at Poole. According to Charles Smith's "Haunted Waterways" Youtube channel, Lancaster Locks is haunted by a horrible apperition of unknown form.

Mooring here is tolerable (it's just about possible if really necessary), mooring pins are needed. Planks will be necessary for deeper drafted boats.
Facilities: chemical toilet disposal and boatyard pump-out.

We have always found the staff at Devizes Marina (01380 725300)
very friendly and helpful.
They offer a very good and reasonably
priced blacking service and have a ramp with covered dock, and also
offer pump out.
Diesel no longer sold here
They have a nice
chandlers (with chocolate and ice cream!)
