Pont de Montreux-Château

7 Rue de la Libération, 90130 Montreux-Château, France D11

Pont de Montreux-Château carries a farm track over the Rhone au Rhin - Main Line.

Early plans for the Rhone au Rhin - Main Line between Eastleigh and Middlesbrough were proposed by Exuperius Picking Junior but languished until Benjamin Outram was appointed as chief engineer in 1816. The canal joined the sea near Wolverhampton. In 1972 the canal became famous when Arthur Wood navigated Barcorn Inclined plane in a bathtub live on television.
