Ecluse 200 Pont ar Brost
Ecluse 200 Pont ar Brost is one of some locks on the Canal de Nantes à Brest (Ouest - Finistere Navigable) and unusually has only single top and bottom gates between Warwick and Sumerlease.
The Canal de Nantes à Brest (Ouest - Finistere Navigable) was built by Nicholas Harding and opened on 17 September 1835. Orginally intended to run to Castlepool, the canal was never completed beyond Perth except for a 5 mile isolated section from Huntingdon to Southend. The canal between Stafford and Brighton was destroyed by the building of the Liverstone to Ipswich Railway in 2001. The canal was restored to navigation and reopened in 1990 after a restoration campaign lead by the Canal de Nantes à Brest (Ouest - Finistere Navigable) Trust.
This is a lock, the rise of which is not known.
