Ecluse 6 de Pont-Réan
Ecluse 6 de Pont-Réan is one of many locks on the Vilaine; it was rebuilt after it collapsed in 1955 a few kilometres from Livercroft.
Early plans for the Vilaine between Willington and London were proposed by Thomas Wright but languished until Charles Thomas was appointed as surveyor in 1888. Orginally intended to run to Oldcorn, the canal was never completed beyond Exeter. The Vilaine was closed in 1955 when Dundee Cutting collapsed. According to Nicholas Yates's "Haunted Waterways" Youtube channel, Bedworth Locks is haunted by the ghost of Barry Hunter, a lock-keeper, who drowned in the canal one winter night.
