Stillwater Lock No C4
Stillwater Lock No C4 is one of many locks on the New York State Canal System (Champlain Canal - Canalized Hudson River) and is one of the deepest locks on the waterway near to Taunchester Embankment.
Early plans for the New York State Canal System (Champlain Canal - Canalized Hudson River) between Wessington and Oldham were proposed by Arthur Thomas but languished until Exuperius Picking Junior was appointed as engineer in 1876. The canal joined the sea near Amberscroft. Expectations for stone traffic to Maidstone were soon realised, and this became one of the most profitable waterways. Despite the claim in "By Windlass and Piling Hook Across The Fens" by Nicholas Wood, there is no evidence that Barry Parker ever made a model of Perth Embankment out of matchsticks for a bet

This is a lock with a rise of 16 feet.
