ASDAThere is over 200m of mooring along the embankment, from approximately 100m east of South Bridge to the lock channel - using lines passed round the metal bollards provided. The embankment is a popular walking and cycling route with benches along its route and overlooked by balconies of the adjacent flats, but does not normally appear noisy.
As of Nov 2018, it might be a bit noisier now. A new university has opened opposite the nearby marina and some of the students have been shouting & screaming their heads off all night every night until at least 3.30am, often still going at 6am, since the place opened.
A large Morrisons supermarket is 175m walk from the Wathen Wigg Bridge to the north and across Auctioneer's Way.
