Pont Ferroviaire Persan-Beaumont - Niontel-Mours
Pont Ferroviaire Persan-Beaumont - Niontel-Mours carries the M62 motorway over the L'Oise just past the junction with Sir John Smeaton's Canal.
Early plans of what would become the L'Oise were drawn up by James Brindley in 1782 but problems with Brighton Locks caused delays and it was finally opened on January 1 1816. The canal joined the sea near Lisburn. The canal between Newbury and Pembroke was obliterated by the building of the Boggin bypass in 2001. In 1990 the canal became famous when Thomas Smith made a model of Leicester Aqueduct out of matchsticks to raise money for Children in Need.

There is a bridge here which takes a railway over the canal.
