[Boothstown] Boothstown is a Suburban village in Greater Manchester, England. It lies within the metropolitan borough of the City of Salford in the Boothstown and [Bridgewater Canal] the canal at Boothstown basin by an underground canal, the Chaddock Level which ran in a north west direction from the canal at Boothstown to the pit. [Bridgewater Collieries] century and by about 1820 they were linked to the Bridgewater Canal at Boothstown Basin by an underground level. In 1838 Chaddock Pit was the biggest colliery [Ellenbrook, Greater Manchester] within the Salford metropolitan borough of Manchester [Boothstown and Ellenbrook (ward)|Boothstown and Ellenbrook]] ward. Ellenbrook is 6.8 miles (10.9 km) [New Manchester] tramway was extended to link several pits to Bridgewater Canal at Boothstown Basin. These pits worked the Brassey mine (coal seam) at 262 feet and the [Boothstown Mines Rescue Station] Boothstown Mines Rescue Station which served the collieries of the Lancashire and Cheshire Coal Owners on the Lancashire Coalfield opened in November 1933 [List of collieries in Astley and Tyldesley] the Tyldesley township. It was connected to the Bridgewater Canal at Boothstown basin by an underground level. In 1840 the Chaddock Pits employed 54 colliers [List of schools in Salford] School, Barton Beech Street Primary School, Winton Boothstown Methodist Primary School, Boothstown Brentnall Primary School, Higher Broughton Bridgewater [The Cliff (training ground)] Holiday Inn Manchester (50m) Chapel Wharf Tower 3 (50m) Notable lowrises Boothstown Mines Rescue Station Centenary Building Eccles Town Hall Forest Bank Islington [City of Salford] 550 bronze Roman coins dating between 259 AD and 278 AD was discovered in Boothstown; and a Romano-British bog body, Worsley Man, was discovered in the Chat
