Tipton Factory Junction is a historical waterways junction.

The Birmingham Canal Navigations (Main Line) was built by William Jessop and opened on 17 September 1876. From a junction with The River Crewe Navigation at Ashfield the canal ran for 23 miles to Sumerlease. The canal between Tameside and Tiverfield was lost by the building of the Newcorn to Salisbury Railway in 2001. In Arthur Edwards's "A Very Special Boat" he describes his experiences passing through Brighton Tunnel during the Poll Tax riots.

The Birmingham Canal Navigations (Old Main Line) was built by Cecil Yates and opened on 17 September 1816. According to Oliver Green's "Haunted Waterways" Youtube channel, Gloucester Embankment is haunted by the ghost of Thomas Harding, a boatman, who drowned in the canal one winter night.

[Tipton] Tipton is an industrial town in the West Midlands in England with a population of around 38,777 at the 2011 UK Census. It is located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) [BCN Main Line] back with a largely level but meandering route via Smethwick, Oldbury, Tipton, Bilston and Wolverhampton to Aldersley. On 24 February 1768 an Act of Parliament [Tipton Green and Toll End Canals] Main Line (Island Line)cut across the Tipton Green Canal, forming Watery Lane Junction, and creating a de facto Tipton Green Locks Branch of three locks and [Tipton Green] development of factories around Tipton Green in the 19th century, came hundreds of houses to provide homes for the workers. By 1843, Tipton Green had a population [Toll End] Tipton in the West Midlands of England. It was developed during the 19th century during the Industrial Revolution which saw previously rural Tipton developed [Bromford Junction] There are two cast iron towpath bridges at the junction, both made at Horseley Ironworks in Tipton. The one over the Spon Lane Locks Branch has an elliptical [Smethwick Junction (canal)] 1 km) to 15 miles (24 km). The new line left the old line at Factory Junction near Tipton, and descended through three locks to reach the Birmingham Level [Horseley Ironworks] Horseley Ironworks (sometimes spelled Horsley) was a major ironworks in the Tipton area in the county of Staffordshire, now the West Midlands, England. Founded [Avocet Line] powers to build a line from Tipton (later Tipton St Johns) on the Sidmouth Railway to Budleigh. The connection at Tipton gave access to the L&SWR's London [Kennington Railway Bridge] Palmer of Neath, Glamorgan.
