Additional information

In August 2014, the offside bridge abutments of the bridge collapsed causing the brickwork and timber bridge to fall into the canal, closing it for two days. In December 2016, C&RT announced plans to restore the bridge as part of a £1M, 3 year project to restore 6 Oxford Canal lift bridges, which are Grade II listed. The remains of the abutments can be seen but, in July 2018, the project had not begun work here.
