[Froghall] Copper Mines. The limestone industry was also significant in Froghall. At the nearby Froghall Wharf, limestone was loaded onto canal narrow boats or burnt in [Caldon Canal] Mersey Canal at the summit level), to Froghall, Staffordshire. A steam-powered engine on the Churnet Valley Railway takes him to Froghall for Alton Towers where he learns about the 19th-century origins of this [A52 road] A522 (for Cheadle). It passes through the villages of Kingsley and then Froghall where it crosses over the Churnet Valley Railway and Cauldon Canal, before [Rugeley Town railway station] around half a mile from Rugeley town centre. The station is located in Wharf Road. The original station was opened by the London and North Western Railway
