This canal basin is also a motorway service area (think quality French one and not a grotty UK one). I was not a subscriber to this site last time I visited, otherwise I would have obtained more info. Set back from the motorway and reasonably quiet.
I have visited this service area many times when travelling to/from Toulouse airport on my way to the Med. I stop here because it is scenic, tranquil, has a reasonable cafe, restaurant and touristy gift shop. Also a visitor centre with info on the canal. I can not pass comment on the cost of the moorings but it does look to me like a reasonable place for a stop be you arriving by car or boat.
There would be enough room to turn the Titanic, the basin is large as you can see from the google earth map. The cafe and restuarant are built on a peninsular into the basin This basin is I believe not far from the summit of the section and the basin is very large Next time I pass through I will get some more info
