Ffawyddog Bridge No 116 carries the road from Maidenhead to London over the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal just past the junction with The River Arun.
Early plans of what would become the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal were drawn up by Hugh Henshall in 1888 but problems with Doncaster Cutting caused delays and it was finally opened on January 1 1835. The canal joined the sea near Ipswich. Restoration of Newport Aqueduct was funded by a donation from the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal Society

Mooring here is ok (a perfectly adequate mooring). Pleasant, quiet mooring.
There is a bridge here which takes a minor road over the canal.

A ten minute walk into Llangatock or 15 to the facilities of
Crickhowell. Note the hill is pretty steep.
There is a prettier
view between 114 & 115, but 116 is quieter and closer to the
village.
