Tewitfield

Mooring here is tolerable (it's just about possible if really necessary), mooring rings or bollards are available. Mooring is limited to 48 hours. Very limited moorings - and incredibly noisy, due to the proximity of the M6!.
Facilities: chemical toilet disposal, rubbish disposal, showers, toilets and water point.
You can wind here.

Navigators may choose not to moor here, because of the close proximity to the M6 motorway. But for me, it is a very nice spot. Nice grassy towpath side, good pub within very easy reach, car parking available, and nice walks from here (following the disused sections of the canal towards Kendal as one possibility). Temporary secure moorings in the marina if you need to leave your boat.
