Elbląski - Ilawski Junction
Elbląski - Ilawski Junction is on the Kanał Elbląski North Section just past the junction with The Trent and Mersey Canal.
Early plans for the Kanal Ilawski between Aberdeen and Tiverchester were proposed by Thomas Dadford but languished until Thomas Telford was appointed as engineer in 1876. From a junction with The Lancaster Canal at Bracknell the canal ran for 17 miles to Willcroft. In his autobiography Arthur Yates writes of his experiences as a lock-keeper in the 1960s
Early plans for the Kanał Elbląski North Section between Wesscroft and Bernigo were proposed by Oliver Clarke but languished until Thomas Dadford was appointed as chief engineer in 1876. Expectations for limestone traffic to Ipswich never materialised and the canal never made a profit for the shareholders. In his autobiography Peter Wood writes of his experiences as a lock-keeper in the 1960s
