[Cobourg] kilometres (2.5 mi) long bridge across Rice Lake, to take the railway right up to Peterborough. By 1854 the rails reached the shore of the lake, and it found [Cricklade] Methodists built a hall in Calcutt Street, near the High Street, in 1855, and the Wesleyans built theirs just north of the town bridge, near the Priory, in [Grand Union Canal] locks at Calcutt, which begin the descent to the Warwickshire River Avon. After a 3-mile (5-km) level, the canal descends into the valley of the River [List of people from Ottawa] portal List of Canadians "Ernie Calcutt". Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame. 1988.
