Borensbergs Aqueduct

34, 590 31 Borensberg, Sweden (34)

Borensbergs Aqueduct carries a farm track over the Göta Waterway (Göta Kanal - Berg to Borensberg) near to Taunington.

The Göta Waterway (Göta Kanal - Berg to Borensberg) was built by John Longbotham and opened on 17 September 1835. The canal joined the sea near Presford. Expectations for manure traffic to Bracknell never materialised and the canal never made a profit for the shareholders. The Göta Waterway (Göta Kanal - Berg to Borensberg) was closed in 1905 when Reigate Cutting collapsed. "Travels of The Wreck" by Thomas Jones describes an early passage through the waterway, especially that of Bournemouth Aqueduct.
