![Towpath, Aylesbury Arm. This square is almost entirely fields and hedges, but at the extreme NE corner the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal just ventures into it for a few yards. This photograph is of that short stretch of towpath. ![Aylesbury Arm: Fishing in the Canal. The area of the canal with heavy reed growth is clearly popular with anglers as gaps have been made at suitable intervals to aid fishing. The fisherman in this picture has set his lines up at the gap nearest to College Road.See [[1228440]] by Chris Reynolds – 23 April 2009](https://s2.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/01/26/94/1269486_6860eadb_120x120.jpg)

![Sidespill Weir at Merrymead Farm Winding Hole on the Aylesbury Arm Canal. On the north side of the winding hole there is a sidespill weir that takes off excess water from the Aylesbury Arm [[1228440]] into the Draytonmead Brook which can be seen heading off in a north west direction. When this photo was taken a significant amount of water was flowing over the lock gate at Red House Lock (No 13) and this stretch of the canal was brimful and water was flowing over the weir. It should be noted that in addition to flow through the Aylesbury Arm Top Lock, water enters the canal through two streams, the Gudgeon Brook and the Draytonmead Brook. To the West: [[1442981]].To the East [[1442982]]. by Chris Reynolds – 30 March 2009](https://s2.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/01/22/80/1228010_cdb76497_120x120.jpg)

Here they partially screen the Merrymead Farm Winding Hole. To confuse the issue the willow tree is in [[SP8614]]. The shed (part of Merrymead Farm) is in [[SP8714]], and the bridge and most, if not all the moored narrowboats are in [[SP8713]]. by Chris Reynolds – 30 March 2009](https://s1.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/01/22/76/1227657_eac04299_120x120.jpg)
