[Lapworth] Lapworth is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England, which had a population of 2,100 according to the 2001 census; this had fallen to 1,828 [Lapworth railway station] Lapworth railway station serves the village of Kingswood, Warwickshire, near the village of Lapworth from which it takes its name. It has two platforms [Kings Norton Junction] lack of capital, and it was not until the canal reached Kingswood Junction at Lapworth in 1803, where there was a link to the Warwick and Birmingham Canal [Kingswood, Warwickshire] Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. The two canals meet at Kingswood Junction. Kingswood also has a railway station called Lapworth railway station. It was originally called Kingswood [Stratford-upon-Avon Canal] divided by a junction which connects it to the Grand Union Canal. The northern section from Kings Norton in the suburbs of Birmingham to Lapworth is level [Birmingham and Oxford Junction Railway] passenger branch line, and is still (2019) in use. At Rowington Junction near Lapworth, the branch diverged to Henley-in-Arden, opening in 1894. The need [Castell Dinas Brân] south-west by the Demetae. In 1879 the pioneering English geologist Charles Lapworth named the Ordovician geological period after the Ordovices as the rock [Arden, Warwickshire] Robert Catesby, leader of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, was a native of Lapworth, a village in Arden.
