![A50 bridge across the Trent and Mersey Canal, Derbyshire. This bridge near Shardlow, built in 1997 during the final linking stage of the A50 replacement for the old A6 (originally M64 idea) around Derby to the M1, carries six lanes and was opened around the turn of the century. Old Mr Hicken, whose name was attached to the original 18th century farmer's track bridge would be surprised that some maps still have his name on this crossing, and it has also inherited the original No 4 on the canal system. We have a view of it here:https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3166844 . Note.
