Canalplan Site issues / Route map direction mismatch
Last post by FLHerne - Nov 14, 2024, 03:49 PM
I added 'new' waterways River Weaver (Frodsham Cut) and River Weaver (Old River), previously unmapped, which meet at Frodsham Lock:

https://canalplan.org.uk/place/lu0o

Unfortunately I chose the directions arbitrarily, and the mismatch causes the Tube-style route map at Frodsham Lock to look rather odd.

Is it possible to correct this without deleting and re-creating Frodsham Cut?

General Chat / Rating moorings
Last post by Stephen Atty - Sep 20, 2024, 06:35 PM
I think those probably are close enough - again everyone will have their own interpretation of what they are. If I saw Excellent I'd expect a solid side with rings etc and a good surface to the path

General Chat / Rating moorings

Hi

Thanks for program use every time we have a canal holiday.

I was going to try and rate some moorings but there is no rubric to describe what each category means. Is the following roughly what is intended?

Impossible is obvious

Tolerable - large gap to towpath needing plank

OK - can moor alongside but on bottom: any method or mooring.

Good - moor alongside and good holding for spikes

Excellent - alongside and rings/Armco for brackets etc.

If any of these pipe bridges have been demolished, have become a danger to navigation or are newly built please let me know and I will update our records.

Hi Stephen / Shultzy
Thanks for extracting and providing the pipe bridge data. We have now processed and presented it to members of the group to all them review against their datasets and pick up any unprotected assets for prioritisation and protection from 3rd party access.
Thanks
Andy

General Chat / How do I set up my journey to ...

We will be renting a narrowboat in Bradford on Avon and traveling to Bath.  2 hours of travel time Saturday afternoon, approximately 4 hours the Sunday morning to Bath; stay in Bath Sunday night and Monday morning; travel 2 or 3 hours Monday night; then on to Devizes and back to Bradford on Avon by Saturday morning.  I can figure everything out on planning the journey except staying in Bath for two nights.  Thank you very much.

Canalplan Site issues / Overnight stopping places
Last post by Stephen Atty - Aug 21, 2024, 07:19 PM
No it's still there

The burger bar menu to the left of a place you add into the route plan allows you to mark it as a place to stop.

Canalplan Site issues / Overnight stopping places
Last post by PubBud Brian - Aug 21, 2024, 01:13 PM
I have been using Canalplan for years and have found it incredibly powerful and flexible. But I just noticed that one of my most-used features now appears to be missing: the ability to mark certain places along the route as overnight stopping places, i.e. to override the computed stopping places. Has that capability been removed or might I have inadvertently altered some setting that is responsible for the issue?
