I'm trying to make a list of the locations of locks that have cast iron balance beams (they're apparently quite rare.)

So far I have:

Hertford Union Top Lock No 1[/*]

Can anyone help me with any others, please?

I can't imagine there are many left due to the nature of cast iron.

There are some iron gates (or there were a few years) ago on the Oxford - one of the Hillmorton Locks at least (and I fancy perhaps one of napton). I'm not certain they are cast iron rather than wrought or early steel though.

Ah. I'll check at Hillmorton and Napton next time I go through there. Napton in September. :)
