Title: Llangollen Canal
Post by: Boatman1305 on Apr 24, 2022, 08:18 AM
When I plan a journey along the Llangollen Canal the journey times are significantly different when going westbound to eastbound.
For example Gledrid Bridge 18 to Llangollen Basin is 9.39 miles and takes 4 hours 51 minutes with no locks. The same journey the other way is still 9.39 miles but takes 3 hours 17 minutes.
I have speed set to 2.5 mph.
Any ideas why there is such a large difference?

Yes because the Llangollen has a flow on it, and canalplan factors in water flows when calculating trips - so a trip down a river takes less time than the same trip upstream
