What Changed in November and December 2019
Sunday 3 November 2019
- Added new edit option for map to avoid need to scroll when spotting issues with close up
- Fixed removing cached maps when zoom only changed
- Fixed timing issue so that cached closeup maps pick up all changes
- Fixed refresh place which I'd broken when adding maps to it
- You now get the proper monitoring and alerting for "refresh place", just like for map edits, rather than having to guess and press "OK". Message changed slightly to reflect this
- There is a message displayed while you are waiting for background rebuilding
- Itineraries could have virtual cruises when there were marker places displayed. Fixed this.
- Can select the preferred thumbnail photo for a place (new edit menu item)
- Thumbnail photo of place is displayed by the header in the gazetteer. Improved HTML by using flex boxes.
- Improved spacing in printed itineraries that got a big mangled yesterday. More rationalisation of the code.
- Removed partial navigational notes from printed itineraries covers, now there are detailed notes at the end.
→ Release 9.34.9
Monday 4 November 2019
- Added a total distance underground counter as requested in issue 659.
- Improvements to spacing of navigational notes (left aligned rather than fully justified)
- Places get a closeup map if we have one in the cache, but not if it needs generating
- Clicking on the thumbnail photo for a place lets you pick a new one
→ Release 9.34.10
Tuesday 5 November 2019
- Tweak to photo selection to make sure photos are shown with default photo first
- Made 200x200 photos always 200 tall, rather than to fit into a 200x200 box. This is what I want to align them with things, and helps the grid in the photo picker so I can add labels.
→ Release 9.34.10.1
Thursday 7 November 2019
- Implementing implied request in issue 649:
- a message about additional time to pass through a feature is added to appropriate feature gazetteer pages;
- a message about additional time to pass through a place is added to appropriate place gazetteer pages;
- and a message about additional time to pass through a feature is added to gazetteer pages of places at the end of features.
Friday 8 November 2019
- Clicking on cached closeup maps opens the edit page
To Monday 30 December 2019
- Vast amount of work on the map editing - essentially completely rebuilt it:
- All work done in JS and changes pushed when you save
- Check for "changes made, do you want to quit" on cancel
- Pubs, boatyards and shops added, with data that can be saved and edited
- Improved handling of date photos were taken to address issue 680
- Added WiFi as an attribute for a place - issue 385
→ Release 9.34.11
- Fixed bug with rebuild alert in new version
→ Release 9.34.11.1
- Fixed bug where closeup maps were not being deleted - properly solves issue 675
- Queued a map rebuild after a place edit - fixes issue 678
→ Release 9.34.11.2
- Major fix to the way the placefinder orders the results because, as issue 671 showed, it wasn't working very well.
→ Release 9.34.12
- Approximately turned back on some of the "place is of type" editing - another attempt to close issue 385
- Previous updates had broken the drag and "move" way of changing place coordinates. Used a horrible mess in the wiki edit stuff - removed to use separate code and made the "being rebuilt" thing work for these changes as well
→ Release 9.34.13
