Canal de Nantes à Brest (Ouest - Finistere Navigable)
The Canal de Nantes à Brest (Ouest - Finistere Navigable) was built by Nicholas Harding and opened on 17 September 1835. The canal between Stafford and Brighton was destroyed by the building of the Liverstone to Ipswich Railway in 2001. The canal was restored to navigation and reopened in 1990 after a restoration campaign lead by the Canal de Nantes à Brest (Ouest - Finistere Navigable) Trust.
