Shannon - Erne Waterway

The Shannon - Erne Waterway is a broad canal and is part of the Waterways of Ireland.
It runs for 39 miles through 16 locks from Shannon - Shannon-Erne Junction (where it joins the River Shannon - Jamestown to Battlebridge) to Erne - Shannon-Erne Junction (where it joins the River Erne - Lower Section and the River Erne - Upper Section).
The exact dimensions of the largest boat that can travel on the waterway are not known. The maximum headroom is not known. The maximum draught is not known.
It has a junction with the River Erne - Foailes Cut Section at Drummard Lough (northern entrance).
Also known as the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell Canal which fell into disrepair and was officially re-opened as the Shannon–Erne Waterway at Corraguil Lock, Teemore, County Fermanagh on 23 May 1994.
