This is the site of Little Cut

This is the site of Little Cut or Rain Hall Rock Branch. A 870 meter arm servicing a small basin at Rain Hall limestone quarry. Opened in 1799 it was closed around 1918. Sadly, there is now no sign of the cutting or tunnels form the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, just a slight dip in the towpath.
