Inscription says: This milepost was placed hereby volunteers of the WATERWAY RECOVERY GROUP donated by JOHN HEAP AIB Chairman of the Inland Waterways Association and unveiled by JOHN BIFFEN PC MP on 10th October 1981 to commemorate the installation of the first new top lock gate of the restored Welsh Frankton flight
