View of the bridge showing that little has changed in the last few years

Note the stop gate on the bridge, which could be closed if to prevent water loss to the canal if there was a breach of Nantwich Embankment. This is paired with a similar gate at the other end of the embankment, and is similar to others found at Shelmore and Shebdon.

This bridge marks the limit of navigation for widebeam craft.
