The fine building of St. Nicholas Cathedral viewed from the visitor moorings between the two lift bridges.

It was first founded as a Catholic church in the 13th-century. The building was destroyed by the Germans in the second world war. It was then reconstructed and elevated to cathedral status in 1992.
