The start of the Beeston Cut, and the only way to go now the Nottingham Canal is closed here

Beyond the large metal piling was the original course of the Nottingham Canal which used to continue up to Langley Mill. The first section of canal is now used for a sewage farm outfall, which ends up going under the canal, and into the River Trent.
