The original Braunston Turn was here; the Oxford Canal towards Napton passing under the bridge that now gives entry to the marina. The new junction was cut as part of the improvements of the 1840s, after which this became just a short arm to the wharf, and the Braunston Branch Canal (now joined alongside the reservoir). This evocative photograph, taken on New Year's Day 2000 makes it look like a real canal again.
