Upstream of the bridge

Just above Godstow Bridge is quite a popular mooring spot, despite the Oxford ring road not far behind the camera in this view, which presents a continuous background noise. The Trout Inn (famous from Inspector Morse TV series) is visible through the trees and boasts free roaming peacocks (including an unusual albino one). Behind Godstow Bridge are the remains of Godstow Nunnery and Godstow Lock, beyond which are the glorious sweeps of Port Meadow with the spires of Oxford clearly visible on the horizon.
