Although it should be possible to navigate to the winding hole (physical road bridge of Dudley Bypass now severs the navigation limits) the Ridgacre branch continues as a linear fishing and wildlife corridor as a local amenity for another few miles.
PS. Local enthusiasts have tried to maintain the channel , using nothing more that grappling hooks to "Part the Reeds" over last few winters, gained 100 mtrs of channel.
Still 2-3' water below reeds, so navigable if you could get through weeds.
BWB/Crt have now erected notice at the junction trying to discourage boaters, but you could hand line a boat through and turn at winding hole, without causing any possible pollution concerns - otherwise it's yet another section to be discouraged and closes.
