Viewed from the west we will shortly cross this small river which joins the river Aude about two kilometers to the south.

Had the name Pont Rieux not already be given to this aqueduct on canalplan, I would have named the place "Pont-Canal de Rigole de l'Etang" to agree with the title on my map. I have little other evidence to justify changing the current place name on the planner.
