Title: Excluding waterways
Post by: CountZero on Mar 23, 2018, 11:15 PM
currently looking at routes but trying to exclude the Shropshire Union Middlewich branch due to the recent breach closure.

i added it in prefs under the exclusions tab and it shows as an additional excluded waterway, however, tried both apply & save but its still being used when planning routes.

hopefully i'm just missing something obvious?

Canalplan knows the canal is closed so it should not route through it unless you over-ride it. I know it complains if you explicitly try to plan through it and I would assume that it won't try to plan a route through it its one of the possible routes.

You ought to be able to exclude the branch - as you say - by going to exclusions, but that doesn't seem to be working.  I've added it to the bug tracker.

But you can easily avoid the closed waterway by planning the route and then finding the stoppage warning in the output and pushing the \"plan around this\" button.

yes, your suggestion does work, but as im trying to do a "furthest place" route from the marina and back in a week it adds quite a few days :)

thanks for logging the bug, good luck with the fix.

Just to say that I've now fixed this bug.  So there are two ways to do it for normal planning but - as you say - it would be a pain for furthest place without it.
