Virtual cruise

I like to run through a virtual cruise whenever I am planning a trip. Currently I'm hoping to travel from Gayton Marina to Snarestone in April if Boris will let me. Unfortunately about half the photographs don't display. These are the ones posted by 'Nick Chilton', most other people's photos are OK. Is this a fault on the system, on my computer or did  'Nick Chilton' do something wrong when posting. Not a witch hunt just want to make sure its not my fault. Thanks

Sorry for not replying sooner - it's been a rather manic week at work.

That does sound very odd - I could understand if none of the pictures showed up but when it's all the ones by a specific person that suggests that there is something about those photos that is stopping them being displayed.

The best thing to do would be to raise a bug report about it and hopefully Nick can pick it up and work out what is going on.

Let me have a look.  The photo code is a bit transitional at the moment (I was completely reworking it on a separate branch, then never fully merged the changes back in and it's a bit mixed up).  It could be - for example - that the virtual cruise code is using information that I no longer put in the database but create when needed, and newer photos don't have it.

It wasn't the person, just the age of the photo - old ones were not displaying properly.  It turned out to be a trivial configuration change.  I fixed something else while I was there...

I might be being dense but at the moment the Virtual Cruise option isn't showing up for me at all?   I only get Route Editor, Preferences, Itinerary and Export This Route.

Yes; I have actually just added a note about this to my bug report on the PDF generation issue.  Under preferences>exclusions>types of places, \"marker places\" were excluded from \"gazeteer\" and \"waterway gazeteer\", but not from routes.  Excluding them from routes seems to have fixed the PDF generation issue, and also returned the virtual cruise option.  Not sure if that is expected behaviour or not?

That all sounds very odd - but I'm sure Nick will be looking into it if it's in the Bug Report.
