Adding a Stop and Adding Notes

Two questions:
1.  Is there a way to show more available possible stopping points when I'm planning a route?  For instance, I'm going North from Coventry to Fradley Junction.  I wish to stop at the Tame Otter PH in Hopwas.  This place (and mooring) exists in your database, but it doesn't come up in my route plan as a place I can set a stop (there's Frazley and then the next available place I can select a stop is 5 miles North).

2.  Is there anyway I can add my own notes somewhere in the route plan?  For instance, I'd like to just note that I want to buy groceries, or eat at a particular restaurant, or take a tour.
